Case studies on rat infestations and rat problems
Examples of our rat control techniques
“We made contact with Positive Environmental to provide a service to eradicate a rat infestation and provide an ongoing monitoring programme at our livery yard. We have been truly impressed with their professionalism, commitment and quality of work from the original enquiry through to the on site service provided.” RJ Wood.
“The last rat catcher tried gassing the rats in the earth bank with a car exhaust. It hasn’t worked so can you please get rid of the rats for me” said Alan the farmer. We instigated a course of burrow baiting and within a few weeks the rat problem and the risk of damage to his expensive machinery was removed. NOTE: gassing rats in this way is illegal, and the old rat catcher has not been seen since.
Mr White discovered a family of rats in the garden, living in the compost bin. We undertook a treatment programme to get rid of the rats, making sure there was no risk to his pets, and provided advice on how to minimise further rat infestations. Rats in the garden are common, especially in and around compost bins.
Ram wanted help with getting rid of rats underneath the floor of his Indian restaurant. A call to Positive Environmental resulted in a technician being on site within 90 minutes. We used a trap on this occasion, the following morning the rat problem was resolved and Ram was able to concentrate on his customers again.
Mrs Langeard was admitted to hospital, extremely distressed by the scratching noises in her kitchen. Within 45 minutes of receiving the call we where on site and identified the cause of the scratching as rats under the kitchen sink. We placed some bait, and revisited a few times until we where sure the problem had been resolved. The rat had gained entry through a hole in the wall made for the kitchen sink waste pipe. Mrs Langeard was very pleased with the help we provided in getting rid of the rats.
